The film shows the social reality of Quebec during the early 1900\'s, through the true story of the people of Sainte-Philomène de Fortierville. Marie-Anne Caron gives birth to her second daughter. Born at dawn, the child will bear the name of «Aurore». She grows up a happy child, until tuberculosis takes away her adored mother. Aurore\'s father, after only a week from her death falls under the spell of his attractive cousin Marie-Anne Houde and marries her. From that time onwards, the life of the young girl is in danger, while the whole community stays silently watching...

He participated in writing the script for the series Tag, directed by Pierre Houle. He also wrote another series, Bunker – Le Cirque. Aurore is Luc Dionne’s first feature film.
