Abandoned by her boyfriend, Abby, a young American woman, finds herself alone in Tokyo. She hangs out in her neighborhood ramen shop, where she realizes that her true path in life is to become a ramen girl. She convinces the shop’s tyrannical Japanese master chef to teach her the art of making ramen. In the end they both discover that each ramen bowl must contain something which comes from the heart.
Robert Allan Ackerman received an Emmy Award nomination and a Directors Guild of America nomination for Life with Judy Garland: “Me and My Shadows”. His additional directing credits include the movies “Tennessee Williams’ the Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone”, for which he received an Emmy nomination, “Baby”, “Double Platinum”, “Outrage”, “Suddenly”, “Forget Me Never” and “The Reef”, and the mini-series “Night Sins”.
