Ray Tuckby is a gentle soul, trying to make ends meet for his agoraphobic wife Charlene and awkward teenage son Eddie in the bleak town of Trona, California. Life is routinely filled with anxiety for Ray, due to the local teenage drug dealer, Dirk, and his fellow gang of thugs, who control the community. As events in Ray’s life take unexpected turns, a chance run-in with an outsider, Merl Striker, encourages Ray to dream again.
Hart Bochner began his artistic career as an actor. He was cast in Schaffner’s film Islands in the Stream, playing George C. Scott’s son. After starring in over 30 films, he made his directorial debut with the short feature The Buzz. He was subsequently hired by 20th Century Fox to direct the cult film P.C.U. and worked also for Columbia Pictures. Just Add Water is his feature writing debut.
