Three first-time filmmakers, Justin Bell, Dana Murphy and John Carter set out to make a documentary about the hardships of inner-city Brooklyn. Justin follows two NYPD officers, Dan Masterson and Alex Mora. Dana and John capture the life of Thomas Coventry, a teenage black youth poised to move up from the adversity of living in an under privileged community. As filming progresses, violence and emotion get in the way of Justin and Dana’s objectivity. Their ambitious idea spirals out of control, and they get stuck in the world they were describing.
Biografia Autore
Graduate of Emerson College, Ryan has aspired to make films from as far back as he can remember. At Emerson, Ryan directed the short film, The Good Life, which screened at festivals worldwide, earned him several awards including Best Film. Then, Ryan helped establishing Four Act Films, and worked on numerous movies, including Stiffs and Goodbye Baby. The Project is Ryan’s first feature film, which he wrote and directed.
