Nandu is a truffles seeker, a solitary and apparently brusque man. His sole companion is his little dog Nanà, who shares the same name as a ballerina with whom young Nandu was once in love. When Nandu's beloved dog is accidentally poisoned, the local vet, Valerio, rescues her. And this commences a deep friendship between the two men. When Nandu and his dog die, Valerio follows his friend's footsteps and starts his journey seeking the mythical truffle "nuggets" he has heard about from the "wise" of the village. But often in the woods, myth and reality intertwine...
