“Hello Mum. My name’s Alison. I was born on the sixth of June, twenty eight years ago. But you know that already, don’t you?” Grieving the death of her adoptive mother, Alison tries to track down her natural mother to find a replacement ‘mum’. She sends out a videotape as an introduction. But are her intentions what they seem?

Susan Everett worked as an illustrator before completing a scriptwriting MA at the Northern Film School in Leeds. In 1993 she won the Carl Foreman Screenwriting Award, in association with BAFTA. She then spent 18 months at California State University, where she wrote scripts and directed a short film, WHITE RABBITS (1994). While in L.A. she gained experience in the script department at Jersey Films (PULP FICITION, GET SHORTY). Susan has won prizes for her short stories,which appeared in numerous anthologies and magazines. Her first novel Crazy Horse was published by Route. Susan\'s screenwriting credits include a 2 hour TV thriller for the A MIND TO KILL series. MOOSE (2002) marked Susan’s return to directing after concentrating on her writing. She then directed PUSS PUSS (2003), one of the UK Film Council’s Digital Shorts. She has just completed MOTHER, MINE (2008), a higher budget short funded by the UK Film Council and Screen Yorkshire.
