In one summer at the end of the 70's the classmates of Vadolo, a little village in the southern part of the Po Valley, decide to organize the first village "Festa dell'Unità". Riccardo Marchesini (Bologna, 1975) graduated at the Accademia Antoniana d'Arte Drammatica and attended the "Professione Cinema" school in Rome. In 1997 he shot his first short film Un Mercoledì da Saponi, which won several awards. In the same year he cooperated with Pupi Avati and directed a series of documentaries for Sat2000. In 1999 he was assistant director in Sergio Citti's film Vipera and directed his first TV programme Ossigeno. In 2000 he shot the short film Bocca di Rosa. In 2001 he shot commercials for the campaign "Diritto allo studio: diritti al futuro", those for the Region Emilia-Romagna, and for "Point-one". In Summer 2003 he started filming Gli ultimi, a medium-length film which is part of a project for the making of a serialized feature film. In 2003 he was also given the award for the best film editing for the film "Voice off".
