Gina is in her late 70s and she lives in an old people's home. She is eager to participate in her grand-daughter’s wedding, but when her daughter tries to keep her from going because of her poor health conditions, Gina feels overwhelmed. Anyhow she decides to run away from her old people’s home, to participate in the wedding ceremony. When she arrives at the church she realizes that she went to the wrong wedding, and while resting in a bar Gina meets Giacomo, a bright-eyed old man. They start looking for the right church, on board an old Renault 4, disclosing themselves to each other little by little.

Pippo Mezzapesa was born in 1980 in Terlizzi, near Bari (Italy). He studied humanities at high school and then he took a degree in Law. Pippo is natural-born filmmaker and he refined his skills at the Screenwriting Lab organised by Tracce. Mr. Mezzapesa is a documentarist, a commercial filmmaker, a screenwriter and an editor. He won the David di Donatello Award for the Best Short Film in 2004 with Zinanà and in 2008 with Pinuccio Lovero. A Midsummer Night’s Death was presented as a Special Event by the International Critic’s Week at Venice Film Festival. He is currently working on his first feature film.
