Bari, summer of 1946. The war is over but tension keeps running between Paolo and Luigi. Lightly wounded while in Abissinia, Paolo would like to obtain a war pension by his labor union. Luigi remembers him his past as a fascist. The discussion gets intense when Paolo loses a cards match for the umpteenth time. His young son Antonio silently assists to his fathers' humiliation. With the money obtained from his mother for lunch, he buys a toy gun and with his small army of brothers he heads to his house to give his father the weapon, so he would be able to get revenge.
Paolo Sassanelli Born in Bari in 1958, famous actor of theatre, cinema and tv, he is a known face in Italy for several roles played in important tv series (Un medico in famiglia, Raccontami, L'ispettore Coliandro, Non pensarci). In his career in the cinematographic world, he has been directed by Matteo Garrone (Estate Romana, Ospiti), Giuseppe Piccioni (Giulia non esce la sera, La vita che vorrei), Silvio Soldini (Giorni e nuvole), Cristina Comencini (Matrimoni),Gianni Zanasi (Non pensarci, Nella mischia). Co-screenwriter of the movie "Rosso come il cielo" by Cristiano Bortone. Uerra is his first direction for cinema.
