Sudhakaran lives in the city, leaving behind his father in the village- who tries to keep the relationship alive through writing letters. For selfish reasons the father compels Sudhakaran to marry Savitri, who nurses him; Seeking to live a life of her own Savitri decides to move to the city with Sudhakaran; What seemed to be a marriage of convenience for the father has now turned out to be a heavy burden for Sudhakaran to bear…
