Cardilli spent her early childhood in the Middle East where she acquired a taste for the exotic. She went on to study economics at Cambridge University and worked as an investment banker before abandoned her financial career to pursue her love of film-making. She graduated from the American Film Institute in 1998. She is currently at work editing a reality TV series on private investigators.
