Directing and producing Nailed were firsts for Silverman, but the role of writer is a very familiar one to him. A former Associated Press award-winning journalist, Silverman worked for papers including The Washington Post and Newsday before transitioning to screenwriting in 1990. Over the last five years, Silverman has sold or written on assignment six scripts for Disney, Fox and MGM. Romantic drama with an edge is the milieu he most often explores. “I like really flawed characters who struggle to change and succeed but don’t quite evolve to the point of a clear victory.” says Silverman.
