Renata Litvinova
Renata Litvinova (1967, Moscow) graduated in 1989 from the National Institute of Cinematography's Scriptwriting Department. Since her screen acting debut in Kira Muratova’s Passions (1994), she has become one of the most immediately recognizable figures in modern Russian cinema. Her cult status is intimately connected with her style of performance and with her work as screenwriter and film producer. She has as well acquired some international acting fame in the films of Kira Muratova (Passions, The Turner and Melody for a Street-organ) and Peter Greenaway. Goddess is her feature début as director. In recent years, she has been a respected jury member at various international film festivals, including the Berlinale and the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR in the Netherlands).
