Jake Scott
Jake Scott is a British director born in 1965. He has been working mostly on commercials and music videos for over 15 years. He gained early directorial prominence with REM’s music video for Everybody Hurts, which won multiple MTV awards and a Grammy nomination. Jake has then directed highly acclaimed videos for U2, No Doubt,Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, The Strokes, George Michael, Lily Allen and Massive Attack. In 1999 his first feature film, Plunkett & Macleane, was released: it starred Liv Tyler and Robert Carlyle. In 2003, Jake won an Emmy for Best Commercial for his Nike’s spot Move, and in 2005 he received a Silver Lion award in Cannes for his work with Adidas. Also in that same year, Jake was nominated for a Grammy for direction of George Michael’s Flawless and received three AICP awards for his work on Nike’s Magnet. Most recently, he completed his second film, Welcome to the Rileys, which was in competition at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, in the Panorama section of the Berlinale as well as The Los Angeles Film Festival.
