Biography
Rupert Friend formed Beat Pictures with Jessica Cole to make films fuelled by passion and creativity. He co-produced, co-wrote and co-starred in Beat's first short film, The Continuing and Lamentable Saga of the Suicide Brothers which was accepted into nine international festivals: London; Los Angeles; Nashville; Athens; Foyle; Aspen; LA Shorts; Cleveland & New Hampshire, where it won Best Short Comedy 2009. It has a distribution deal with Shorts International who will release the film internationally in 2010. His feature film credits as an actor include Georgia, Lullaby For Pi, The Kid, Cheri, The Young Victoria, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Jolene, Virgin Territory, The Last Legion, Outlaw, The Moon and the Stars, Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont, Pride and Prejudice and The Libertine. He recently made his West End stage debut in Douglas Carter Beane’s The Little Dog Laughed.
