Biography
Born in Milan, Italy where she trained in Theatre Set Design at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. Upon graduation Martina was immediately picked by MTV Europe to work in the team based in London. She then directed documentaries for TV specializing in underwater filming. She moved into drama in 2008 with A' Mare, a 14 min film set in Sicily, which premiered at Sundance and won a number of awards among international festivals including a BAFTA/LA Certificate of Excellence at Aspen and the UNICEF award in Bilbao. Her second drama I-Do-Air won the BAFTA for Best Short Film 2010. Martina has just completed Chalk, a 20 min film commissioned by UK Film Council and Film4 that will premier at the Berlin Film Festival this February. Martina is currently developing her fist feature film with Cowboy Films, together with Italian writer Ilaria Bernardini.
