Synopsis
East Berlin, 1985. Lars, a young Stasi Lieutenant, discovers his parents are underground smugglers. Now, with his commanding officer over for dinner, Lars struggles to reconcile his feeling of kinship with his ideology.

Biography
Born and raised in beautiful Monza, Italy, Manuela has been fascinated by theater and cinema ever since she was a little girl. While in high school, Manuela adapted and directed a short stage version of the musical Moulin Rouge. In 2007 Manuela graduated from the prestigious Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. She then studied Screenwriting at the European Institute of Design in Rome, and recently earned her MFA in Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, where she worked on over 40 short films. Manuela is currently collaborating with the International Sales Department at Hyde Park Entertainment (Blue Valentine, Machete, Shopgirl). Her 2009 short film Grace competed at the Queens International Film Festival. Her last short film Lars will premiere at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival’s Short Film Corner.
