Joe Medeiros
Joe Medeiros is considered to be the leading expert in all areas regarding the theft of the Mona Lisa and Vincenzo Peruggia's life. In May 2010, he was invited to Paris to appear in Kensington Communications, "Museum Mysteries." The series will appear on the National Geographic Channel in January 2011. Joe has been writing and directing his own films since 1969 and for his own production company, Midair Rose Productions. Joe directed the award winning short documentaries Sailing the Star of India and Friends of Independence, Sailing Heritage Society, and Doors of Florence. The Missing Piece: The Truth About Vincenzo Peruggia and the Unthinkable Theft of the Mona Lisa is his first feature length documentary.
Joe has also written and directed commercials for clients of Scharfberg & Associates, a Philadelphia advertising agency and for TV Guide magazine. He was the head writer of the The Tonight Show with Jay Leno for 15 years and directed numerous actors in sketch comedy bits including Brad Pitt, Fred Willard, Gilbert Gottfried, Tom Green, Steve Schrippa, Moe Rocca and many more. Joe also wrote and directed remote segments for The Tonight show from the Olympics held in Atlanta; Nagano, Japan; Salt Lake City; and Torino, Italy. He has also worked as a director and consultant on Steve Schrippa’s Hungry for LifeSkool Network and Face the Ace for NBC Sports.
